Podcast: is the Misinformation Crisis Overblown?

This podcast interviews Professor Sander van der Linden and Dr Hugo Mercier in a clash of the Titans on misinformation research. Mercier follows more of an agentic approach, where humans believe in misinformation because it fits their belief, and misinformation appears because there’s a market for it (which I can find myself more in) whereas van der Linden looks more at it as a crisis where misinformation is brought in by nefarious actors who are poisoning the well to put political pressure, and people just need to be ‘vaccinated’ against that misinformation.
